About CEEP

What is CEEP?

The Clearinghouse on Early Education and Parenting (CEEP) is part of the Early Childhood and Parenting (ECAP) Collaborative within the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. CEEP (a content provider) and the ECAP Information Technology Group (ECAP/ITG) work closely to build print and online resources for the worldwide early childhood and parenting communities.

CEEP consists of a staff of more than a dozen people who work on a variety of projects under the direction of Lilian G. Katz and Dianne Rothenberg, co-directors. Currently, CEEP projects include the following:

What is CEEP's relationship to ERIC/EECE?

CEEP is the successor to the ERIC Clearinghouse on Elementary and Early Childhood Education (ERIC/EECE), which was part of the national information system in education, called ERIC, from 1967 through December 2003. At the end of December 2003 the ERIC Clearinghouse system was disbanded, and a single contractor has since been named to build the ERIC database. CEEP offers access to the archive of ERIC/EECE materials at http://ceep.crc.uiuc.edu/eecearchive/index.html. (For more information on the ERIC database since 2003, please go to http://eric.ed.gov.)
