The Early
Intervention Special Education Program at West Virginia University
developed, implemented, and evaluated a distance education model
using satellite broadcasts of coursework and supervised practicum
experiences to train early interventionists. Program success suggests
that emerging telecommunications technologies offer a feasible solution.
